Syrups & extras
Tangy Citric Margarita Rim
Cocktail component
**Base Ratio
Use teaspoons for accuracy:
- 4 tsp fine salt
- 1 tsp citric acid
- ½ tsp lime powder
- ⅛ tsp cayenne powder
- ⅛ tsp sugar (maybe I don’t know what quarter teaspoon is this black ones)
Why These Ratios Work
- Salt (4 tsp) → structure + adherence
- Citric acid (1 tsp) → main tang (this is doing the heavy lifting)
- Lime powder (½ tsp) → aroma + citrus realism
- Cayenne (⅛ tsp) → background warmth, not “spicy rim”
You should notice cayenne only after the sip.
Adjustments (Make Micro Changes Only)
Want it more tangy**
- Increase citric acid to 1¼ tsp
Want it brighter / more lime**
- Increase lime powder to ¾ tsp
Want a noticeable heat**
- Increase cayenne to ¼ tsp ⚠️ More than that overwhelms margaritas.
Too Sharp?
- Reduce citric acid to ¾ tsp
Texture Tip (Important)
After mixing:
- Pulse once or twice in a spice grinder
- Goal: uniform powder, not dust
If you don’t have a grinder, whisk aggressively.
How to Rim (Best Results)
- Use fresh lime juice on the glass
- Rim half the glass only
- Let sit 30 seconds before pouring
Quick Scaling
Want a larger batch?
