This original from Justin is a refreshing cocktail that combines the tartness of fresh grapefruit juice with the botanical notes of gin, while the egg white creates a luxurious, silky texture and frothy top.
Ingredients
- 2 oz gin
- 3 oz fresh grapefruit juice
- 1 egg white
- Salt for rimming(garnish)
- Grapefruit wedge for garnish (optional)
Directions
- Prepare a rocks glass by running a grapefruit wedge around the rim and dipping in salt
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice
- Add gin, grapefruit juice, and egg white
- Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well-chilled and frothy
- Strain into the prepared rocks glass
- Garnish with a grapefruit wedge if desired
Notes & Tips
- For best results, use fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice rather than bottled
- Try a dry shake (without ice) first, then add ice and shake again for maximum frothiness
