The Aperol Sour is a vibrant and balanced cocktail that combines the bitter-sweet profile of Aperol with the botanical notes of gin, brightened by fresh lemon juice and smoothed with egg white for a silky texture. This refreshing drink is perfect for aperitivo hour or summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Aperol
  • 1 oz Gin
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 oz Simple Syrup
  • 0.5 oz Egg White
  • Bitters (for garnish)

Directions

  1. Combine Aperol, gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white in a cocktail shaker without ice.
  2. Shake for about 15 seconds (dry shake).
  3. Add ice and shake for a further 20 seconds.
  4. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
  5. Garnish with three drops of bitters and a lemon twist.

Variations/Adaptations

  • Play with the ratios between the Aperol and Gin.
  • Try 2 oz Aperol, 1 oz Gin, 1 oz Simple Syrup, 1 oz egg white for a sweeter variation.
